At Moneybarn we want to be as transparent and open as possible with anyone who has come into contact with us. This is why we have an easy to use portal to handle all rights requests, making the process as simple as possible. If you have any questions on how this process works or what information you might need to complete a request, then please take a look at the FAQs below.
Under the Data Protection Act (DPA) 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2016, all individuals (data subjects) have a right to access or challenge the processing of their personal data being held and managed by an organisation.
You can exercise these rights by submitting a request for an individual rights request under one of the rights listed below:
For information on individual rights, please review our privacy notice. You can also find more information via the Information Commissioner’s Office website.
The simplest and most secure way to make a rights request is by logging an online rights request on our portal. If you are unable to do this then you can also contact us by:
Not usually. In most cases we cannot charge a fee for complying with a rights request. However, we can charge a ’reasonable fee’ for the administrative costs of complying with your request if it is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or if you request further copies of your data.
We have one calendar month to respond, from the date we have verified your identity. When you submit a request, you will be asked a series of questions to verify your identity, once this has been completed you will receive an email saying if it was successful or not.
We may extend the time limit by a further two months if the request is complex or if we receive numerous requests from you.
Depending on what communication preference you have selected, is how your rights request outcome is received.
In most cases we provide all rights request outcomes via our secure online portal. Once the rights request is completed by our Data Rights Team, the outcome is uploaded onto our secure portal and you will receive an email notifying you that something has been uploaded onto the portal. .
The email notification you receive will have a link taking you to our secure portal to view the outcome of your rights request. It will also show whether your rights request has been completed.
In some instances, our Data Rights Team may need further information in order to deal with the rights request. Therefore, we may update the request to reflect this which will notify you in the same way. You can then access the secure portal and respond.
We understand there may be instances where you are unable to provide an email address to access our secure portal. If this is you, then we are able to post the outcome of your rights request. You just need to specify this is how you would prefer to be contacted when creating the request.
We hope that you do not experience any issues when creating or receiving your rights request. Should you have any issues then please contact us via datarightsteam@moneybarn.com. Alternatively, you can contact us on 0330 555 1230.
